STONE GARDENS Goes to the Garden Isle

Intrigued by the sand, the sun, and the lush tropical foliage, we visited Kauai, HI in January to make our 2010 collection of tropical leaves. Using local beach sand, beach glass, and native leaves, our basins and wall hangings reflect the brilliance of our beautiful surroundings.

The finished cement leaf castings echo influences from visits to the Allerton and Na 'Aina Tropical Gardens, and other tropical botanical sites. Kaua'i is the oldest of the Hawaiian islands and its soil conditions support a lush, flourishing array of native plants and vibrant flowers.

Enjoy this collection of sights from Kaua'i and the cement leaf art they inspired.

WORKING IN PARADISE

Last January we spent time working in Kauai, in love with the giant leaves that we found growing there. Here is some of our work from the Garden Isle.
